Abstract: The new development concept is an important guide to promote high-quality development and a profound transformation
that is related to the overall development of our country. In this study, with Yunnan Province as a research focus, a combination of
quantitative and qualitative methods such as entropy method, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, obstacle degree, and Jenks
natural breakpoint classification method are comprehensively used to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and negative
driving effects of high-quality development level in each prefecture-level cities under the background of new development concepts.
The research shows that: ① The overall level of high-quality development in Yunnan Province is relatively stable, but in a few years, it
has shown a slight downward trend. In recent years, the level of high-quality development in various cities (prefectures) has shown a
gradually balanced trend, but the evolution trend is different. The evolution trend of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and
shared development levels has significant regional characteristics. ② The level of high-quality development exhibits significant
regional characteristics, with gradient differences of high level, relatively high level, medium level, relatively low level, and low level.
③ The factors that occur frequently and have a strong hindering effect in the process of high-quality development are mainly
concentrated in the dimensions of innovation, openness, and sharing.
